With over 40 years of general aviation experience Dave had his very first flight lesson on his 16th birthday. He continued training and on his 17 birthday he passed his private pilot check ride. Dave has had a love for and been involved in aviation ever since.
In 1988 Dave added on to his credentials and earned his Commercial Pilot Single/Multi-engine land with Instrument privileges. Wanting to share his knowledge and love for flying with others, Dave continued on to acquire his Flight Instructor Certificates Single and Multi-engine land, along with an Advanced Instrument Ground Instructor’s endorsement. He recently obtained his Instrument Flight Instructor add-on rating for single and multi-engine.
With over 5,000 accident and incident free hours under his belt Dave has been retained and referred by many aircraft owners and operators over the years. Referrals are a common method of gaining new studens and clients interested in his expertise. Many of Dave’s students have gone on to the major airlines, military or other aviation related careers. “Nothing has thrilled me more than to see a young person advance from being land locked, to seeing them acquire the necessary and the orderly skills to solo and become a licensed pilot!”.
Larry has known and worked with Dave for decades. This friendship grew into a strong mutual association to develop quality flight training. Larry taught at over 20 cadet flight academies throughout the Mid-West. Dozens of former students fly now for the USAF, US Army, and major air-carriers. As a Colonel he flies missions for the Civil Air Patrol, Auxiliary of the USAF, logging over 200 sorties ranging from real-world SAR, natural disaster assistance, mission pilot training, and Homeland Security. Larry is a published aviation writer and has written articles for Mentor magazine (National Association of Flight Instructors), Contrails magazine (AJ Publications), and textbooks for the Civil Air Patrol Inspector General Program. He currently serves as an adjunct instructor in aviation sciences for Gateway Technical College, Kenosha.
